Running. He slammed into a tree. Ouch! He shook it off and continued. His bones shook with fright. Something was after him, and fast. He didn't know what it was and how he got into the dark woods, but it was bad. He was the king of halloween, and even this scared him bad. An enemy without title, a darkness in the forest chased him. His skull rattled with fear. Jack shook off his dizziness from the tree. His skull had popped off when he smashed into the bark. He felt for it. Damnit, no time for such! He grabbed his head and popped it back on, cracking the neck into place. But he was too slow. The shadows grabbed him and dragged at him, ripping his clothes and causing pain to the king. He screamed, but not a sound came from his mouth. Eye sockets closed. His struggling stopped.

Sally hummed silently. In her room she sewed her wedding dress, the black widows helping her stitch the lace. "Your the lucky woman, marrying the famous Jack Skellington!" A spider remarked as she spindled her webbing for thread. Sally smiled,"Yes, I am abit nervous though. I love him dearly, and when he proposed," She looked at the pumpkin-shaped ring on her finger,"My heart lifted in my sewn chest!" "haha, yes, wedding days are big. I was married, but my dear husband died, that's how I became a widow." The spider whistled for the other widows to starts threading and sewing the laced sleeves of the white dress. It was dark outside. The girls were pulling an all nighter for the young bride-to-be. Tomorrow was a big day, a very big one for Sally. She brushed her ginger hair back, smoothening her patch dress. Her light blue skin glistened in the night light. But even in this excitment, she could not help but feel like something was wrong...

He felt his way to the gates. His bony hands trembled as he slipped through the opening between the bars. He was that slim. His clothes were torn, and pieces of the cloth blew around in the cold air. Cold? He could not feel anything since he had no skin. Or alteast, not until now. He felt the breeze, that was odd. Senses? He had sense again? Jack froze in place when he saw his reflection in broken window. On the outskirts of town, not a soul lived near. He ran to the shard of glass that hung lowly from the old abandoned house. He touched the skin on his face. Yes, the SKIN. He had skin! Ears too! a nose, and a mouth over his jaw. His eye-sockets were occupied with eyes, gold eyes. His hair, he had hair! Ginger colored hair, like the spice of a pumpkin. He ran his boney hands through it, ruffling the soft ginger texture around. His expression was shock, and fear. Being without a face for nearly forever, he almost forgot how to make expressions! But of course, it came natural in seconds. Flesh covered his body, it being as pale as the waxy coat of the moon. He opened his mouth and put a hand on his tongue. Damn, his skin and insides felt cold as a corpse! He pulled at his own tongue. SNAP! The tongue wriggled in Jack's cold hands. He tried to scream, but his vocal cords choked without the tongue to project the sound right. He threw the tongue back in his mouth, feeling it mend back in place. He was dead still! Looked alive, but was still dead. "Now, how does this work?" His voice echoed in the silent night. He looked down at his clothes,"So slim yet, I look alive. Was that shadow a curse? Or even worse? Tomorrow..TOMORROW!" He jumped around,"Tomorrow is my WEDDING! But how...no no no! I can't do it like this! What will every soul say?" He sighed, putting a hand on his head,"How will every soul react? I have to get home!" He trudged off into the cold. He soon learned to hate the cold, too.
